Coffee Bluff – Rich in History

This famous city was known for its plantations before the civil war era. It was initially occupied by free slaves but has developed over the years into a diverse neighborhood attracting visitors from all over the country and across the globe. 

The majority of homes in the Coffee Bluff area were constructed between 1970 and 1999, making them established but not old. In addition, several houses were constructed from 2000 to now.

Fast forward to 2009, when the City of Savannah bought the town’s marina from private owners in a bid to ensure the Coffee Bluff Marina remained an access point by water for the people of Savannah as well as tourists traveling to Savannah.

The land and marina were completely renovated by the City of Savannah beginning in 2012. The cutting-edge marina and park were completed in late 2014 and reopened for the delight of both locals and visitors. Metzger Marine Services presently controls and oversees Coffee Bluff Marina.

Location

Roughly 10 miles south of Savannah’s historic core, between the Vernon and Little Ogeechee rivers, sits the old Coffee Bluff neighborhood.
